This talk will look at the European Commission’s current legislative proposal for a recast directive, including the impact of the financial crisis on it.

Jonathan Foster is a Barrister practising at the Financial Services Authority, and presently seconded to the European Securities and Markets Authority in Paris.  He has worked on the implementation of the original IMD and has been involved in the present proposal.  This talk is however a personal view: it is not a view from the European Commission, the FSA or ESMA.
