Insurance Linked Securities (ILS) are a growing phenomenon in the re/insurance and capital markets.  They are having a significant impact on the financing and transfer of risk and are instruments and transactions that those involved in re/insurance need to understand.  Our distinguished panel will consider and debate the following questions:

•    What are Insurance Linked Securities and why are they used?
•    Who invests in ILS and why?
•    Why are ILS of interest to sponsors/cedants?
•    What are the risks of ILS and how are they modelled?
•    What is the future for ILS?

Luca Albertini:  Luca is a founding Partner and CEO of Leadenhall Capital Partners, an asset management company set up in 2008, supported by the Amlin Group, and active in non-life and life insurance linked investments with approximately $1.8bn of assets under management.

Charlotte has worked on award-winning deals such as MetroCat Re Ltd, Tradewynd Re Ltd Series 2013-2 and Bosphorus 1 Re Ltd. She holds a PhD in Seismology from the University of Cambridge.

Chris Parry: Chris leads the International Capital Markets team of Aon Benfield Securities – the reinsurance investment banking division of Aon Benfield – focusing on Life and Non-Life ILS. Having joined Aon Benfield Securities in 2009, Chris has since led a number of successful international ILS transactions, most recently including Tramline II, Atlas IX, Lion I Re and Windmill I.
