Michael Kelleher read jurisprudence at Oxford University and thereafter qualified as a barrister.  In 1978 he left the bar and joined the West of England P&I Club where he was deployed in its Claims Department.  In the mid to late eighties he managed the West of England’s Hong Kong office and on his return was appointed a Director.  Michael is now the Senior Claims Director at the Club and is responsible for the claims service in all the clubs offices worldwide.  Michael is a member of the International Group’s Salvage Sub-Committee and also BIMCO’s Documentary Committee.  He was involved in the revision of BIMCO’s Wreck Hire, Wreck Fixed and Wreck Stage contracts with representatives of the ISU in 2010 and is now Chairman of the International Group’s Large Casualty Working Group
