The European Commission, under the auspices of the DG Justice, has set up an Expert Group to assist it in examining whether and to what extent differences in contract laws pose an obstacle to cross-border trade in insurance products.
The Commission’s decision to set up the Group was taken on 17 January 2013. The Group first met in April 2013 and has met monthly since then (except in August). The final meeting is currently planned for this December 2013.
