A referendum is to be held on 18th September on the question whether Scotland should become an independent country and this BILA lunchtime event will focus on the implications for the UK insurance industry of a “Yes” vote. In association with the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA)
Topics to be discussed will include the consequences of Scottish independence for the legal systems of Scotland and the UK; the effect on the insurance industry (including possible changes to insurance law); the implications for Scotland’s membership of the EU; currency issues; and financial services regulation in an independent Scotland.
