Over 100 law students attended BILA’s Future Insurance Professional Group annual networking event which took place on Thursday 6th November 2014.
Delegates commenced the evening with a tour of the iconic Lloyd’s building and then made their way over to the offices of Beazley in Great Tower Street. They were greeted by a host of experts from a wide range of disciplines together with senior figures from the London insurance market.
Michael Mendolowitz, BILA’s incoming Chairman, welcomed the students and gave a background of the Association and its place within the industry. This was followed by a Keynote Speech from Andrew Horton, CEO of Beazley who had kindly hosted the evening. Andrew spoke of the opportunities that a career in the Market gives, and that Beazley strongly support and encourage new talent in the Lloyd’s market and were pleased to be able to participate in this event.
Against the breath-taking view of the Tower of London from the 9th floor of Beazley’s offices, delegates and experts were able to freely network and find out more about what the Market has to offer, over a glass of wine and canapés. The evening was enjoyed by all with one student describing the event as “an inspiration for all students”.
