BILA was well represented at the 11th AIDA Europe Conference held at the University Carlos III of Madrid between 28-30 May 2025.
BILA Officers and Committee members, Laura Cooke, Franziska Arnold-Dwyer and Jonathan Moss and BILA members, Ralph Fearnhead and Shenaz Lyons, were all moderating or making presentations to various plenary or working party sessions.
Also among the Conference delegates were BILA Committee members, Christine Williams and Senara Eggleton.
Senara was attending the AIDA Europe Conference with the benefit of sponsorship provided by the BILA Charitable Trust as a direct result of recent successful fund-raising efforts made by the Trust.
Senara, who obtained her PhD in August 2024 while at King’s College, London, obtained her first academic role last September, appointed as the Yates Glazebrook Fellow in Law and Director of Studies in Law at Jesus College, Cambridge, with her primary research interest lying in commercial contract law, specifically insurance and reinsurance law.
Senara, who will report on the Conference for the benefit of members, commented: “I am most grateful to the Trust for their support. The Conference will provide very useful material for both my research and my teaching commitments”.
Franziska represented BILA at the AIDA Presidential Council meeting owing to the enforced absences of Ozlem Gurses and Tim Hardy.
